As it stands, we must have one of the best defensive squads in the league...

GK: Smithies / Ingram / Lumley

    RB: Perch / Furlong

LB: Bidwell / Robinson / Kpekwa

CB: Hall / Lynch / Onuha / Caulker

And one of the WORST offensive/attacking squads in the league!!! What is JFH hoping for this season? 0-0 every week? Avoid relegation with 46 pts? Come on Jimmy, address the attacking options in the squad please! We've lost Fer, Philips, Hoilett and Austin (last season and never been properly replaced). We need some firepower! Washington and Polter will not bring us the goals we require this season.

Are you for real mate! It's still pre-season & we haven't finished bringing in players, Christ give it time, obviously you haven't got any.

Ideally you want these players in place before the season gets underway. We're looking at one winger, minimum, coming in to be a first teamer so it would be better to get it done early so patterns of play can be trained on, linking up with team mates etc without the added pressure of competitive games.

I'd hate a scenario where we're going down to the last few days of the transfer window needing to plug vital gaps.

I fully agree that ideally you want people in for a full pre-season. I think the euros/WC always have a knock on effect for signings happening later plus look at almost every other teams in all leagues the activity has only really started and I'm sure everyone has a lot more to do as the season gets nearer. Anyone know when the window shuts is it like last year almost 4 weeks after the league starts which is mental. Should close before the first game.

All successful sides build from the back

Arsenal have all attacking flair in the world but cant defend

If Caulker stays does he claim a 1st team place? Caulker and Lynch? Halls good but lacks pace for me

Today is July 7th, the championship starts on August 7th. Of course we can bring players in after this but if we play three and don't score any goals any targets we had will have their clubs raising their prices

Player of the year last year wasnt he. would be harsh to drop him. go with Caulker and Hall if both here and leave Lynch to fight his way into the team

Yeah but it's hardly bloody panic stations at this point is it? We seem to be targeting the right players for the right positions, so I'm sure Jimmy and Les have striker targets in mind.

Bear in mind Ned is still captain, he is likely to start most games... If you play him at RB then you have to drop Perch, if you play him in the middle then its Hall, Lynch and Caulker fighting for that last spot.

Personally I don't think Caulker should be anywhere near first choice, Ned and Hall where a decent pairing last year and Hall POTY like you said, and Lynch is JFH's signing who clearly wants to play for us. What has Caulker done other than go out on loan twice and never play. I mean according to wikipedia he played 6 times in the last 2 years and was completely fit and available for selection most of that time.

With what JFH saying he wants Caulker to stay and considering he's on a high wage i doubt the club would be willing to let him warm the bench for 40-50k a week. I reckon he will get loaned out again anyway, maybe Celtic?

Realistically I'd expect Caulker to be moved on.
