Yep, cant fault him for wanting to play.
Goes up there for a year or two, bangs in a lot of goals to build his reputation and stand more of a chance of making it at a bigger club when he gets the big move.

Has never played, nor has ever been on Spurs Books.

Has the exact same name as the Tottenham guy, so easy to get confused.

I'm guessing they thought him staying would help them avoid relegation which ultimately would bring in more than £5m from another season in the Championship......?

perhaps, but why now sell for £500k when he could have certainly been sold for more.

Assume you mean West Actons post about it being a come down? I think what he's getting at there is that he was linked to them, as well as other top English clubs, but then joined a club viewed as very much past its best.

I dont think they have much of a say in the fee now.
As he's only 19, the training costs up until this point wont be looked at as being that much compared to if he was say 22/23.

Is that a bit of a myth though? I cant really think of anyone who's gone up there and subsequently gone on to a bigger club/done great things. I think many get suckered in by the poor standard up there and some actually get worse! The only player I can think of is Henrik Larsson

Even so Norths, stick it out in the media he is up for sale and surely drive that price up a bit.
Cant complain though, it weakens Fulham.

                        Good shout. Forgot about him.

He's out of contract, as opposed to being up for sale.
The strikeforce of Dembele and McCormack is pretty much what kept them ticking over last season. Hope they lose both.

I'm not surprised he's joined Celtic, after all they are one of the biggest clubs in the world

Huge club, but it is a very poor standard of football.

That said, at 19, there may not have been many PL clubs able to promise him first team football whereas Celtic likely can which would obviously add to the draw for him.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

It's really not that far off the championship, I'd say there is 4 championship quality teams, 6 league one quality teams and 2 league two quality teams. Think Dembele has taken notice of the success of previous players who've done well at Celtic then done well in the English Premiership.

The chance to work under Rodgers was probably more appealing than the club IMO.
Brendan has a very decent track record of improving youngsters that move on to bigger clubs.
