He's a Championship striker being asked to play a thankless lone striker role for an average at best side against the best international side on the planet...... Not sure it was ever likely to be his day to be fair.

To rate him on such a performance is incredibly harsh and pointless. Lets just highlight the fact he's playing in a major tournament for his country and helped them qualify through the group stage. That is a massive achievement in itself.

Harry Kane has played a lone striker role for a completely dominant side against poor opposition and been utterly woeful.... that's something worth moaning about, not the situation with Conor as it's chalk and cheese.
