While I think live match stats can sometimes be a bit tedious, I acknowledge that stats can be an important post-match analysis tool which can assist clubs (and fans) in understanding what happened during the match and why, and therefore also help with preparation for coming matches.

Exactly, it's also handy with preparation of how the opposition play. Like if we can see that a team attacks down the right a lot through the stats, we put more defensive support there to stop that happening. Generally clubs are significantly more open to what stats offer them, but obviously it's not the only tool they use.
