4th favourite to be promoted next season as things stand after Newcastle, Norwich and villa. Of all the teams who stayed up and competed in the championship this year bar the 4 in the play offs arm they have us as the most likely to go up.

I wonder if they know something or are expecting us to really go for it with recruitment in the summer?

That's quite interesting, considering last year we wasn't rated at all I remember rightly?? I have mixed feelings this year coming, but I feel in a more confident mood than last season.

to be fair... all the odds are a bit strange (and the teams in the playoffs aren't included - i'd guess all 3 will have shorter odds than us by the beginning of next month), but even the rank outsiders (burton and rotherham) are being offered at 16/1 - these are not generous odds at the mo.

I still think the rest of the world views us as a big spending club. Fact is we will not buy our way out of this division like before.

think we went as short as 10/1 to win the league last year when it looked like Austin was staying. Seem to remember many on here saying they were lumping on as the odds were great....

exactly ramsey, at this point of the year the bookies are extremely lazy, and just nail us on as somewhat heavy to very heavy favourites as we're still seen in that light that you mention.

as 1 of the happiest clappers here on this site, id still say that these early summer odds are quite rubbish. we were around the same position, odds-wise, last season, and look at where we were.
it just gets all the people who aren't in the inner workings - the fans, writers, bloggers, etc - to have too high of hopes (and subsequently lose the plot at the first result that isn't a 6-0 win!)

Think we'll flirt with the play-offs at best. Can't see us winning the league though. Personally think we will have a season building a squad that will go on to much better things.
