Yep. Mancienne very overrated . No positional sense and weak. Poor cb.

Is this purely based on the young lad who signed for us when he was 19/20 went straight into a championship team and held down a position most weeks?

I'm sure he's improved in the 10 years he's been away and very well thought off forest?

Happy with Lansbury. Not sure if we need Mancienne if we have Nedum, Hall and Caulker. I assume we will be getting some people in on free transfers or loan deals and wouldn't want to spend money on a cb as it isn't an urgent position for us to improve

disagree there, the centre back position urgently needs addressing. Hall's fine, Ned and Caulker are not

Lansbury is a championship class player. I have no qualms about this.

Some talked about Matt Connolly and now rumour about Mancienne.

I don't know why I don't like bringing players back.

M.M. was way overrated back when we had him last.

Often out of position and very lightweight in the challenge..

What he did possess was good footballing ability.

As for him now being a much better defender. I think the fact that at 28 years of age he has reached the dizzy heights of Nottingham Forest tells you where he is in reality.

Apart from anything else can you just imagine MM and sleepy Ned as our back pairing.
Frightening to say the least. Always gonna be a disaster waiting to happen.

Where he is? An established Championship CB? Isn't that exactly what we are looking for? Anybody that thinks we can attract people that are better than "established Championship" players are deluded, we are an average Championship side and will recruit accordingly. Think some of us need to lower expectations.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Can't believe the comment above. Now established championship defenders aren't good enough for us apparently.

The fact is mancienne looked like he could hold his own in the championship 8/9 years ago. Now he's gone on to be a assured performer and Forrest are desperate to keep him and build a championship challenging team around him.

It would be a coup of we Nick two of their best players as Forrest have had their transfer embargo lifted now and they will be looking to push on.

Dont think anyone can actually judge Mancienne based on when he was last with us, it was so long ago and no doubt his game is completely different now. In all honesty i havnt seen enough of Forrest to judge him, so no idea. He is becoming a bit of a crouch in the sense we always seem to be linked with him.

Lansbury - would be a great signing for us. Have thought for a couple of years now he could hold his own in the prem, so would be great if it came off.

Hard to believe but Lansbury is only 25!! £4million for those two would unreal...

These are two ideal players for us, I am surprised at some of the comments re MM. I thought he had a great season on loan with us and has had good reports from his Forest reports. He is surely better than Angella and we are now lacking for central defenders with Clint going. Lansbury is a very good player and I hope we push this one over the line. A few more of these type of signings and it may just give every one of us a much needed boost of enthusiasm

Mancienne isn't just a CB though is he. Plays RB and in midfield as well.

£4m for the both? Absofarkinglutely !

Lansbury would be a very tidy signing and a huge improvement on any of our current central midfielders. Mancienne would be useful too (based on the little I've seen of him in recent years).

Interesting to see so many negative posts on here about these 2. I can't really see why. Both are established players at this level and 4m quid is buttons in this league these days!
