Bournemouth have paid 7.8 mill in fines for accumulating 30 million pounds worth of losses when in the championship.

I can't remember what our figure was qouted at but even if it was double than that then we cant be looking at more than 15 mill and not this ridiculous 50/60 mill that the papers were mentioning.

Maybe someone can post what our loss was and give a more accurate estimated guess if what we could be looking at if we used this piece on Bournemouth as a guideline?

not entirely sure that it helps us understand much... according to the text in the afc bournemouth accounts, the amount paid is "in accordance with the financial fair play rules". the key issue is how much of the £38.328m loss can be excluded from the calculation - there are various exemptions (promotion bonuses, expenditure on the development squad etc), which aren't disclosed in adequate detail in the accounts. for a fine of £7.615m to be payable, their adjusted loss after exemptions would need to be £18.934m - meaning that either at least £19.394m has been deemed as exemptable (which seems suspiciously high) or the football league has done a deal (which seems likely).

neither bournemouth or the football league seem keen to clarify and no journo seems bothered to ask why the fine is only £7.6m and not £27m (using the same methods they use to work our fine out at).
