well, other clubs have dinners with ex players. Thats just one thing.

We always focus on the league Cup final winning team, great. But, wouldn't you like to the see players from the FA Cup final V Spurs, Play off final, and even the Milk Cup final run that saw us beat Chelsea and Liverpool to lose disappointly against Oxford United.

Also, I never see a figurehead from the QPR team under Francis first time. Ferdinand seems to want to be assoiciated with Newcastle more than QPR, but apart from Parker, Wilson, Macca and Gallen, don't see much link to QPR from former players?

Well how a bout talking to them, inviting them??

I met Venables during Euro 2004 in Lisboa, and he said he would love to talk to and be invited by QPR to come to games and represent the club, he had a genuine passion for QPR. That was 2004 and well he is still probably waiting.

Met McLintock in Barcelona three years ago and he said the same.

So Pete, here is your answer.............

            Did you get it yet?

Speak to Les quite regularly. He'd love to do something for the club. Has no ties to Newcastle whatsoever.

Case is, as with all these guys, they would want a fair (as in equality) wage for doing so.

                    Is the correct answer.

Going rate is approx £500 per legend per game (depending on the "quality" of your legend )

eg - McLintock probably gets close on £2k (plus expenses) for sitting on his backside in a nice warm Sky studio being fed and watered all day Saturday. Gotta make it worth his while.
