Also sky are reporting two clubs have gone in for Rhodes from the championship. One is sheff wed and the other uned.

We have been strongly linked with him for Charlie's replacement. Could it be us?
£12m for Rhodes is robbery, he's getting worse every season. I do think he's gone stale though and a move will rejuvenate him but at that price it's not us. I'd guess Boro as they bid for him in the summer. Can't see Blackburn letting him go in their position anyway unless the ridiculous price is met.

I think he's a goalscorer anyway and it's either him or Gayle. Gayle for me all day for value, potential improvement and his pace, work rate and goals offer more than Rhodes would.

I'd go for Bamford and Armstrong (Newcastle on loan at Coventry).

I think Rhodes will be well out of our price range

Armstrong is a good shout, very good young player.

Armstrong would be a gamble tbh. He's had a good six months. Can't see him breaking into the Newcastle side next season but also think they won't sell, so I'd watch him for the rest of this campaign with the view to a possible season long loan next season.

Caulker was on loan for the season at Southampton.

Surely we could use our McClaren connection....

But he wasn't wanted at Soton who tried to send him back. Coventry have just extended that loan, as far as I am aware (although happy to be proven wrong), Newcastle can't take him away from Coventry to re-loan out to another club whislt Coventry want to retain him.

Would settle for Bamford and Conor Washington

Yeah I meant Scout him for the remainder of this season with a view to a season long loan with us next year.

They can recall and sell though surely.
