The team won't change much over the next few games so it has to be the formation and style of play. On paper our best side is the best in the league. Our squad ,however, is flimsy and we struggle when key players are out.

If we lose some in January and replace them with more League 1 signings we will be mid-table at best (which is where we are now )

Exactly mate...problem being, Charlie is 'injured' (ofcourse he is!) Polter is sh it, which leaves us with 1 half decent striker JET who is out of favour with our new apparent saviour! The only other option could be to play Junior off JET as a front two?

Smithies should be given a go in net at the expense of 'Calamity' Green. Harriman should be recalled from his loan and installed as first choice RB, even Furlong may be an option, leaving Ned and Hall to resume their CB partnership which made us look solid and actually capable of defending, proven with a number of clean sheets when these two have played together in the middle of the back four. Angella and Hall are clearly not the answer. Finally to complete that four, where the hell has Yun gone? He should be playing LB, not bloody Konchesky who is as slow as he is old! When Robinson is fit I'd like to see him play there, but in the meantime Yun should be playing now.

CMF picks itself for me - Sandro and Ale all day long, not Calvin! Leaving Matty to play RMF and Chery LMF. For the life of me, I cannot see how JFH cannot see all the above?

If Charlie, Matty, Sandro and Fer are all sold in this window and we are left with the other shite...we are really gonna be in trouble in a big way!

After his assist (which was an absolute beauty of a delivery for Hoilett) and generally all round good game, your wish will hopefully not be granted. Fer will be a key component of this team I hope under JFH.

For my part, here are the team characteristics for us and hudds going into this game:

Alongside this, Hudds have won 3 and lost 3 of their last 6, while we have won 2 and lost 1 of our last 6. Alongside this, we are unbeaten in out last 6 at home in the league and have won 2 of those, while hudds have won only 1 away from home in their last 6 (against birmingham), losing 3. There may be a need for a set piece specialist, be it Ale or Chery (from when he was back at Groningen), in order to have any chance of doing something from set pieces, since they give quite a few dangerous ones away but seem to be able to defend against them. We also need to hit them hard on the wings as they seem to be weak against those attacks.

On this basis, I would say we should not go for the possession game here, rather trying to hit them on the counter. If we can get Sandro starting, it would be fantastic as he would win the ball higher up the pitch and release it to our wider players. My starting 11 would be.

                          Green
Perch (if fit - if not then Henry) Ned Hall Yun (if fit - if not then Konch)
Phillips Luongo (to give faurlin a rest) Sandro Hoilett
Fer/Chery (these will rotate with Hoilett throughout the game)
                          Jet

Naz is right: we're still not good enough at keeping the ball. Until someone grasps this and deals with it as the priority we're going nowhere.
