    Individual errors

CR conclusion on the humiliating defeat on Friday are the individual mistakes that lead to their goals. True. However, those are not the only goals we conceded from errors this season.....17 in nine games. He keeps insisting on playing 4-2-3-1, hoping that one day they will click. It looks much clear now that its the system is not adequate for our bunch of players. The idea of going all out to attack when we have such a shaky defence make no sense to me. I'd rather close down at the back before we try to score. Goals can come if we are still in a game as its a given prove that we can score goals. Conceding goals however will crash the players confidence as it was so clear at Fulham. As things are shaping up, we are almost chasing games because we're so vulnerable at the back. I will play 4-5-1. And the mid-fielders must chase and close down opponents and not give them the freedom to penetrate whenever they like. I think the system is not working out, because we do not have the right players. To listen to CR declaring that Sandro have to work hard to take Henry's place is a testament of the situation we are in! Jesus!

    Good post and agree.

Never really understood this cliche that managers trot out about "individual errors" - so what if the error is by an individual or the team or the fault of the system. The point is we have, as you say, let in 17 games in nine games, second worst defensive record in the division, something isn't working and the buck stops with him. Fans were warning all summer we basically needed a new defence but he didn't address it till the last minute in a series of panic purchases, like me scouring the shops for the wife's Christmas present on Christmas Eve...
