i am fairly sure, the deadline is to register your interest in signing the player. Not sure on the actual rules, but know in previous windows, you have to register your interest and both parties acknowledge it before the deadline. Unsure how you stand after that, but think it just has o get down "ASAP".

I remember that was the case with Welbeck. Clubs hadn't even agreed a fee yet, but both acknowledged it was likely to happen so they got extra time.
