  • SWOT analysis on first 10 games

Here is my view on the first 10 games of the season.

    STRENGTHS.
Magilton's managerial style. Honest, open and forthright, not afraid to ruffle a few feathers and says it like it is.
Ben Watson. Bloke looks different class to anything we have had in middle of the park for a while (remember Liam Miller???) Has bought out the best in Rowlands and we look strong, fit and very mobile in the middle of midfield.
Hard to beat. Defence and keeper again look solid.
    2 defeats in 10.

    WEAKNESSES
Lacking physical presence up front. Basically a foil for Simpson someone who can mix it with the big brute centre backs and create bits and pieces for Simpson.
Vine. Still taking a long time to recover his form.
Borrowdale. Just about holds his own in this league, certainly not a threat and an area that any opposition manager will target.
Have drawn too many games we should have won. Blackpool, Peterboro and Forest, most top teams will beat that lot at home.
    5 draws in 10.

    OPPORTUNITIES
The Management team seem to have worked out their best side, that can only bode well as players get used to the pattern of play and get the spirit going.
We have to buy at least 1 decent forward player in January. Probably 2 as competition is very poor up front.
    Have to keep Watson.

    THREATS
The uncertainty surrounding Briatore at the moment. I think this kind of stuff affects the players and the atmosphere at the club. What if new owner comes in and wants new manager/approach. (Could be an opportunity.)

Good analysis. I think that is a very accurate description of how we are playing.

      Good summing up there.

Although it's odd that the team have gelled more without the over-powering presence of FB around.
Something that Holloway talked about on Sky the other day.

Something about a classroom of kids being able to concentrate on their work better, because the big classroom bully has been suspended.

      Or something like that, anyway!

      Olly-isms, and stuff.

I don't think the new owner would want to change much around.

Most of the rumours at the moment look to the Mittall family taking over.

Borrowdale does not look the muppet he was made out to be by some, but I think this is an area we can improve on.

Routledge and Cerny have had good starts to the campaign

I think Faurlin might be a bit of a luxury in the Championship and Vine has been poor this season.

Id also hope that we get back Lee Cook, if he plays anywhere near his potential then he could be the difference.
