I thought Faurlin stood out in the first half despite the rest of the team looking poor. He was the only one looking for the ball, coming to collect it in open spaces and directing play from the middle. Second half he helped command the centre and had a great game. Ale always shows great passion on the pitch and no one he is a crowd favourite as he loves the club just as much as we do.

He was running on empty by about the 70 minute mark though so still not 100% match fit. Best passer of the ball at the club for sure. Was the only one geeing up the side when 2 0 down as well.

Yeah he was, but he wasn't the only one. Charlie Austin looked like he was blowing half way through the second half.

Agreed - Charlie was putting effort in spurts I noticed. Clearly still not 100% match conditioned for sure.

If we're going to play this short passing style game that Ramsey says then Faurlin will be integral this season.

              Great to see him back.

Without a doubt! Faurlin always gives options, he comes to the ball and has great awareness. It's fantastic to have him back!

After the 2nd goal, it was Ale who was encouraging everyone to come over for a group hug. Must be great in the dressing room and I hope he has a great season

If he proves his fitness would make him captain. Longest standing player by a country mile now isn't he?

Man of the match for me...

Aggressive challenges, great passes, neat one twos... And most importantly, good communication and encouragement... A great game !
