Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Slows it all down IMO. Karlos Henry in the side is not conducive to free flowing football. And for that reason I'm out.Originally posted by nasser95 View PostWould disagree there, he tends to retain the ball with his passing. As I recall he had the best pass success rate of our players last year even though they were mostly sideways and backwards but at least he keeps it safe and smart. Got a good shot on him as well.

Thing is, if you watch barcelona play with busquets in the side. He's merely there to win the ball and spray it to more creative players. He's a solid passer don't get me wrong and a much better player than Karl is (Much much better) but their roles in the team are to win the ball back by pressing and release it immediately to the players who can do damage (Luongo/Iniesta, Faurlin/Xavi)Originally posted by A Man Without A Clue View PostSlows it all down IMO. How can you slam Henrys passing then put Doughty forward. His passing midweek was shocking (some rated him highly I must have been watching another game) kid gets involved and about the pitch but passing is not his strength. If he starts in the middle today we loseOriginally posted by A Man Without A Clue View PostPS I'd keep Doughty in today.

Tried way too many 'hollywood' passes (much like barton) and seemed more interested in impressing than succeeding.Originally posted by West Acton View PostHow can you slam Henrys passing then put Doughty forward. Tend to agree and I'm not against that as he's being brave and trying to make a name for himself but his passing was terrible. Had he done it easy he would have had a very decent gameOriginally posted by nasser95 View PostTried way too many 'hollywood' passes (much like barton) and seemed more interested in impressing than succeeding.

Haha taken totally out of context like that, I look a bit of a plonker but to be honest, all the best teams have a ball winner and distributor. Look at any 433 and you will always see an anchor who wins the ball and releases. Chelsea have matic, Utd have Carrick (when they played 433), Arsenal went with Flamini for a while, Martin O'neil's Villa side had Gareth Barry, even looking higher than those, Bayern have Alonso and Barca have Busquets as I said. 433 is a very difficult formation to perfect but it relies on having 3 midfielders capable of different things: Tackling, passing and Dribbling. From what I have seen of all key midfielders, Luongo can do the passing or dribbling, Faurlin can do the passing, Henry is a pure ball winner (and a good one for this division), Doughty, Chery and Fer (should they play in the midfield 3) are dribblers and when Sandro gets back, he will be the best ball winner this league will have seen in years.Originally posted by Jimmy Rabbit View PostStop.... Jus stop riiiiiight there Nasser
The 433 we should be playing if we want attractive football has to have a player like Henry in order to succeed. It is a pure necessity to have someone cool, calm and simple to win the ball and release it."What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. I have to agree with West, he just does the job and get's on with it. If we need to defend then he's a player I'd want in the team.Originally posted by West Acton View PostI like him and think he is well underrated.
Not someone who is going beat three players and set world alight but more often then not he does the simple and basic things and is a 7\10 week in week out
