Anything over £4 mill is too much for Gray. He's had 1 season in professional football and is still pretty raw. Yes he got 18 goals last season but until he does it consistently then he's not worth anymore. Pace to burn, decent strength and a bit of a rude boy so i'm told

Yeah he played LB for England U20s at the toulon tournament in the summer and played RB for Brentford last season.Originally posted by californiahoop View PostI remember Odubanjo as a winger for Orient, a good one as well, kind of lower league we stopped looking at, interesting if he has been turned into a LB.

Deluded mate if you think he is worth 4 mill/we'll get him for less than that.Originally posted by Hove Ranger View PostAnything over £4 mill is too much for Gray. His 1st season in pro football, playing for a top 6 champ side, at 22 and scoring 18 goals in the process is precisely why his worth more than £4m. Thats how the market is nowadays.

Haha deluded. many others on here have said exactly the same but you choose to question me. I wonder why?Originally posted by West London is Rss View PostDeluded mate if you think he is worth 4 mill/we'll get him for less than that.

I dont necessarily think we will get him for that but i would rather not pay over the odds for him.
He's 24 aswell not 22. How much did we pay for Charlie 2 years ago?... What did you suggest for Gray? £7 mill. And I am deluded? Do you honestly think we will spend that much on 1 player? We didnt even spend that much on a striker in the prem. I have seen enough of him and have had enough opinions on him to know he is still a gamble. £4 mill max for me.Last edited by Hove Ranger; 31-07-2015, 01:52 PM.

the key phrase being, 'for you'.. Apparently Brentford want 7 mill for him. Thats the going rate nowadays for strikers who are young and score goals, even in the champ.Originally posted by Hove Ranger View PostHaha deluded. many others on here have said exactly the same but you choose to question me. Alots changed in the market in 2 years. It all changed when Mcormack went for 11mill to Fulham.
No, but we spent that amount on midfielders who dont score many goals.
Its the going rate as i say... and if we want to try to attempt replacing someone of Charlie's eventual calibre, then thats what we are going to have to fork out for a decent striker.
You cant live in the past, strikers with potential who are young are not going to come cheap anymore.

I disagree. All the strikers that have been bought for big money in the champ have done it regularly in that division or at least the football league previously. He's had 1 season in the championship and so he's still not proven. Charlie had done it for 2 years in the championship with Burnley as well as 2 years with Swindon. This kid was playing non league before last season. Things do not change that drastically in 2 years (in terms of valuations) so I wouldnt say I'm living in the past. Also just because Fulham were mugs and overpaid ridiculously for McCormack doesnt mean we should follow suit. I also disagree that the going rate for Gray is £7 mill, just because Brentford are demanding a certain amount does not make it the "going rate". Do you honestly believe we will spend that much on 1 player this summer?Originally posted by West London is Rss View Postthe key phrase being, 'for you'.. Apparently Brentford want 7 mill for him.
