Remember it's a squad that gets you through a season.

Signing a player with a horrific injury record, no matter if he used to be decent or not, which he was to be fair, completely goes against what we have been doing with our transfer policy this summer.

To that end, i think this could be a smokescreen if anything to make out we have options if a real target is stalling or their club are playing hard ball. Could be a tactic to say we want this sorted ASAP or we move on to sicknote... sorry, Ryan Taylor.

To all those that say he is a donkey im staggered to be honest , injures have ruined the lads career of late but when fit was a very good top flight player who is comfortable in defence or midfield. But i think age and injuries mean we will stay clear, although with all these youngsters we are bringing in we need some experience to help them along.

Injuries and age not on his side. Would just be seeting ouselves up for weakening the squad and waisting money. Stay well away imho!

At least we would have someone finally at the club who can take a set play!

I might be thinking of Steven Taylor to be fair...one of them is definitely a donkey.

Maybe we can sling him on late in the game if we have a free kick around the box (Joke) but can see him getting mullered at full back by some of the wingers in the championship
Really lol. Well that's my footballing knowledge down the drain.

Use to have a cracking free kick in him.

Ryan Taylor's the one who moved from Wigan to Newcastle I think. Was a very tidy player but as others have said his career has been blighted by injury.

Maybe I'm doing the same but in all honesty, I can't recall Newcastle having a solid defence in recent times.

Didn't Danny Simpson keep one of them out of the side though?

Average player at best even when fit, which nowadays is never.

Has decent set piece but thats it. Nowhere near good enough for us IMO

Yeah I thought that was Ryan Taylor. Ah screw it, either way, ability notwithstanding, he is very injury prone and we've had far too many of those in recent years.

We'd be better off signing Dennis Taylor

No thanks. At his age the injury problems will only get worse.
