QPR will 'make every effort' to keep hold of star striker Charlie Austin

QPR head coach Chris Ramsey accepts Charlie Austin will want to stay in the Barclays Premier League, even though he says the relegated Londoners will make 'every effort' to keep him.
Austin scored his 18th Premier League goal of the season as the curtain came down on Rangers' miserable top-flight stay with a 5-1 thrashing at Leicester on Sunday.

Should be making every effort to keep Phillips, McCarthy, Fer and Caulker for me.

    Chas is a gonner imo.

If McCarthy is our no1 next season this board will be in meltdown as he will make more mistakes than any other keeper we have had

I'd love to be able to see into the future with such confident accuracy...

              I come in peace.
Rumours on a couple of palace forums that we are closing in on Charlie Austin.
Anyone here heard anything of the sort, and if not, what sort of clubs are being linked the most.
As an aside, i really rate Austin from what i've seen, and id love him at palace(although i reckon hes more likely to end up at Saints/Swansea), but can he play lone striker?

Yes, but better with a partner. His main strengths are scoring goals from crosses into the box. He always gets plenty as long as there's a decent supply line from the wings, no matter what level.

He would get plenty of service from your wingers mate. It wouldn't be like you to stump up ten mill plus though would it?

Yes i have and apparently it has got to do with Glen Murray coming to us, also Newcastle united and WBA very interested, no he is an out and out goal scorer for me , his game outside the box has improved a lot this year his first touch is far better than it was, but you just want him in the box within the width of the posts and give him quality service and he will score, no doubt about that.

Glenn Murray, Really !? Thanks for the replies though. The rumour has it that, if any player were to be involved, it were to be Dwight Gayle, but Bournemouth are also interested in him.
Just hope we dont go back in for caulker, was gutted when we missed out on him last summer, but it seems we dodged one heck of a bullet there..

Yes that's what Palace want , there trying to off-load Gayle but Rs want Murray as part of the deal
Still believe there's a player in there somewhere re: Caulker , hope we keep him to be honest

You did but have possibly taken one with Mutch.

                              Very interesting.
I assume we're reluctant to offload Murray?
Murray and Austin are almost identical players from what ive seen from both, although Murray is a bit better :p , and 5 years older.
For the record, either could get you 20-30 goals if managed correctly.
Any idea what sort of fee we're looking at for Austin
