i'm not sure that throwing money at the problem would have made any difference... red chap would have forked out too much for under-performing players towards the end of their careers and probably put various members of the existing squads noses out of joint.
if red chap had have stayed, we might conceivably still not have picked up any points away from home (certainly not 2 wins at any rate) and we'd still be hearing him chirp up about how he can't understand how we lost the game 3-0, because we'd 'battered' the opposition in the second half (having gone in 3-0 down).

No the DOF was responcible for who or what were bought in but lets not go into no away wins or no home wins this about our DOF not H ROriginally posted by klonk View Posti'm not sure that throwing money at the problem would have made any difference... red chap would have forked out too much for under-performing players towards the end of their careers and probably put various members of the existing squads noses out of joint.

How can Les be blamed for Harry's crap transfer policy beforehand, not buying the right players in the right positions? Or how about his rubbish tactics? Or how about his lack of motivation & constant excuses?
What would throwing yet MORE money at a lost cause of a manager of done? More damage to the debt & our owners. Les & the club done absolutely the right thing, starving that man of money that he so obviously needs yet happens to waste every time.

Dog do you think that Harry was hard done by? I know you aren't wanting to talk about the culprit of our relegation, however I find it strange you point at a man, who was the only one with balls to stand up to harry and highlight that the bloke was a threat to our football club. I have allot of time for Les for speaking out too! Tony was completely blinded and things needed to be said and done. Stopping his funds was the min expectedOriginally posted by dogsrrs View PostNo the DOF was responcible for who or what were bought in but lets not go into no away wins or no home wins this about our DOF not H RI played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

i think there has to be some discussion on that front... you can't start a thread with "now that reality sinks in, how many posters think that our dof les ferdinand religated us in january" and say that any discussion that the manager for half the season and the architect of the squad up until january is off-limits.Originally posted by dogsrrs View PostNo the DOF was responcible for who or what were bought in but lets not go into no away wins or no home wins this about our DOF not H R
the club has finally spotted that it needed to start living within some kind of financial sense - just look at the wage bill for the championship season, things had gone seriously wrong. we had an ageing squad: overpaid, underfit and underperforming. the squad was completely unbalanced with far too many number 10s and nowhere near enough fullbacks.
if i were to criticise what happened in january, the only criticism would be bringing in zarate (another no 10) rather than some defensive cover. defensive frailties (especially isla at right back) have cost us time and again (not isla's fault, he's not really a back-four defender) this season. we sold our only specialist right-back (simpson - not great, but at least knows the position), because we were moving to a back-five (which would have worked with isla), only to abandon the idea of a back five after 3 games. the genius behind all of that? red chap.

If's n an's and pots n pans. Can't change the past. 4 games and our destiny sorted. If and a very big if lessons have been learned and the way we are going to roll as a football club will all become apparent by the end of July. I believe we will stick with Ramsey and the squad for next year will be in place for pre season (time to wake up now)

Top post Jim!!.... how this is Les's fault is beyond me. Also if I remember correctly there were a few calling not to spend any money??.... Ill say it again, nothing wrong with the 'squad' just bad management/tactics/ineffective training sessions etc etc is the reason we're where we are!!Originally posted by Jimmy Rabbit View PostHow can Les be blamed for Harry's crap transfer policy beforehand, not buying the right players in the right positions? Yes that was the mistake the only mistake ? but you and most of the posters here have seen enough football to know that a couple of loans or signings in the defence could have saved us , as DOF L F should have made HIS signings not H Rs signings some posters seem to be in denial that L F the DOF was and is in charge of transfers , Redknapp has been gone for 3 months ! but if anybody looks else where they are deemed to be defending Redknapp or looking for a scapegoat I have said repeatedly that same point you made Redknapp should have gone in June or January the 1stOriginally posted by californiahoop View PostThe only mistake was not getting rid of the old git in December, they thought he would walk before the window shut but he waited until nothing could be done and then walked, naughty dude!

No I don't think H R was hard done by , But I do think wasting time forcing him out was the wrong policy , you and all these posters know our future wasn't a lost cause back in January seeing as quite a few posters thought we would stay up last month .Originally posted by WeAreQPR12 View PostDog do you think that Harry was hard done by? If L F had the influence over T F to stop incoming transfers then he had enough influence to have had Redknapp sacked before the window openedLast edited by dogsrrs; 28-04-2015, 12:29 PM.
