I didn't see him close up as he was on the other side of the road. But if he was able to get to the match ok it can't be that severe. I honestly expected him to be named as a substitute on Saturday!

I guess he probably needs plenty of rest. If he's out for a month but there is a two week break in that period, it's not too bad.

I know that now but I only saw him on the other side of the road. I was outside the Springbok talking to a friend and we saw him walking down the road from the player car park on the other side of the road. He was walking quite quickly too.

As I said, I didn't see him that close up but was surprised seeing him there so I just assumed he was in the squad.

Anyway, it's good news that he won't be out too long.

Obviously someone who has not suffered from Glandular Fever! The worst thing about it is that you go through hours and even half days of thinking 'wahhhayy, I AM better' only to be bought crashing down with a complete lethargy. It is really difficult to know when you are over it completely.

Even when he does get clear of it, he'll have been severely limited in what he will have been able to do during the illness and will be well behind on fitness work.

Oh, and you never really get over it once you have it; apparently the virus lives on in you and may be prone to 'attacks' later in life!

Wish him the best, but he should be OK soon...

I still think it's 5-6 months. That illness is no joke.

                Correct! Thanks for the info.

It wasn't my intention to get into an argument on this. All I did was to report that I saw him coming from the car park and, from where I was, he looked ok. Gavin Mahon came along about the same time and he looked a lot worse!

Hopefully Connolly will recover from this. Some are saying that it'll be a month while other are saying 5-6 months. It'll be a tragedy if it's the latter. I just hope he gets well soon and I think that everyone will echo that.

5 to 7 weeks was what Connolly was saying on Saturday by all accounts. Still think he is hopefull with that estimate as it really can knock you for six.

in the programmeon saturday paul hunter said they cannot put a timeframe on his return. he says it wont be for a while yet.

                        so that also confirms it.
