Fair point 77 but that team does have pace. im having second thoughts about ned after his appaling preformance last week. i would consider capt clint, but knowing redcrapp, he will plonk rio in there.

Oh if only Holliett or Phlllips could step up to the plate and do a job for us. Even one of them. Pace on the flanks and regular quality crosses into the box would be a Godsend. Sadly I fear neither of them can be the player we need them to be.

Spot on .... They both need to go ... We desperately need decent wingers as our current options are limited ... Two decent replacements come January ... In the mold of routledge and Townsend

How can you have 2nd thoughts on Ned after 1 performance (out of position) but start Hoilett and Phillips? Reckon we've got to keep things as near they were mate. With Isla and Vargas back on the right and Fer on the left. The only real change being Barton in for Sandro and Ned for Dunne at CB.
                SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

Not feeling much love for Clint round these parts. We won the game in which he made his one and only full appearance this season (albeit at LB).... Him being left sided will better suit pairing with Caulker. And Ned's made all sorts of mistakes. And in his last two appearances at CB against Derby when his error required O'Neil to take the red card and Burton Albion for their goal. Not to mention the WHU OG and the performance last week. I like the guy. But he doesn't seem to be the saviour some folk think him to be. Clint has never let us down, so he'd be in for Dunne for me. Interesting to see that Anton is almost everyone's fifth choice CB. Sixth probably. I'd play Kelvin there before him.

                      McCarthy

                      Isla Caulker Ferdinand Yun

                      Vargas Barton Henry Kranjcar

                      Zamora Austin

Green has been great for us overall but still worries me, think its time to give McCarthy a go and see what he can do. Last chance saloon for Ferdinand but think he can be good for games like this. Dont trust Onouha. Kranjcar was good when fit and has looked bright as a sub.

The Chief had a poor game at RB last week which is not his position, Are we forgetting all the good games and there were many,he had last year especially the 2 against Wigan at the end, and other than the one mistake in the play off final him and Dunne were outstanding at the back that day , as for Rio? has he had a good game yet? Clint has already admitted he's surprised himself at this level, and is too slow to play through the middle at this level, and as much as I love him, and think he could end up manager of this club soon, I think there are others in front of him for selection,

Routledge is better imho. Nothing against Townsend though.

                            Quite right,
Think Ned had a lot to deal with last week with Barton in front of him and not really knowing his job of tracking back and sticking with his man, so had 2 V 1 at times.
Lets not forget that was a very good Newcastle team who are on fire at the mo and will be top half at seasons end IMO, and we made them look ordinary (at home as well).
Think his runs out of defence are exactly what we need at times, also won`t be bullied by that Ulloa chap.

Love Clint but he seems to either have a worldy or a bit of a shocker.
Always gives 100% though and plays with a smile on his face, so wouldn`t be unhappy to see his name on the sheet 2moz.

I love Clint as much as we all do but mate there is no way in a million years he should be in the side in the PL.

                                I would, personally, go with:

                                Green
                                Isla Nedum Caulker Yun
                                Vargas Barton Henry Fer
                                Bobby Charlie
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
