Should ref's be interviewed after games?

Maybe not right after the game when tensions are obviously high, but I don't think they should be completely muzzled as they are now. I'd like for ref's to be able to explain their decisions and, if circumstances warrant it, hold up their hand and say "after seeing the replay I got that wrong". I think they'd get a lot more respect from the fans that way. Or not!'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. Still simmering over a full pack of red cards from your playing days Dave?Originally posted by QPRDave View PostNo they should be executed!
I have to say I think they are so far out of their depth, (well some) that tv tech needs to be brought in more.
When a goal is scored it wouldn't take more than a few seconds to check from the final ball into the goalscorer whether there is an offside/foul.
The refs are mic'd up already. Just ask a tv ref is it ok to award the goal?...There is too much money involved to just allow these clowns to blunder on regardless.
The game is too open for bias and dishonesty from these men
(I've got a few of those myself but I will hold up my hand and say I don't remember a single one that wasn't richly deserved!)
Much too harsh on the refs mate. It is a very difficult job and even the top refs have bad days. That doesn't mean they are bad refs though. I'm not saying a ref has never been bought or influenced, but most mistakes are honest ones, whether from "home team bias" or "big team bias"; they don't do it deliberately and it is up to the powers that be to reward the refs who don't have those tendencies by promoting them to the top level.Last edited by dsqpr; 14-11-2014, 04:44 AM.'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf.
