OK?
But it was not necessary mate. To you and me a solider would be regarded a hero to someone else quite the opposite

Guy above regards Austin a hero and fair play to him no harm in that there was no need to pull him up. It's the same argument we have about calling a player a great or legend

...in your opinion wests!! I'll decide what I feel necessary to post. Many people on here post totally unnecessary things and not a word is said about it. I felt like making that comment, as it was MY way of saying that in my opinion, the word hero is used far too lightly. Maybe I should be more transparent in what I wish to say in future so nothing gets misconstrued. If some don't bother reading the whole thread, posts can very often be taken out of context and people immediately jump down mine or others throats straight away. You know who you are on this thread!!!

Don't know why you guys don't have him on ignore. This TW geezer is a complete and utter bell-end, always has been as far as I can see. He's so utterly predictable, so utterly boring, that if I bothered to read the shite he comes out with, I'd be asleep in 5 seconds flat.

Agree with this^^^^. The chap constantly disagrees with people or makes unnecessary comments for no other reason than to cause annoyance, like an angry little wasp buzzing around being busy. Somebody swot the irritating so and so away please.

                      Oxford dictionary definition of Hero...

                      "noun (plural heroes)

                      1. A person, typically a man, who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities:"

I believe Charlie Austin has made an outstanding achievement in becoming a recognisable footballing talent in the country's top tier of football, having risen from non league.

                      Peace out

Here's another definition, pretty sure young Charlie is none of these....

"A hero (masculine) or heroine (feminine) (Ancient Greek: ἥρως, hḗrōs) refers to characters who, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, display courage and the will for self-sacrifice—that is, heroism—for some greater good of all humanity. This definition originally referred to martial courage or excellence but extended to more general moral excellence"
