Is WATRB really a lowbrow forum?

I've yet to see the word 'of' grammatically more abused on any QPR site other than this. Not a criticism, just an observation, but sometimes it seems that some posters try to talk like they're pundits on sky sports. The overuse of the word 'quality' shows a lack of vocabulary, or an attempt to sound 'with it', as is the phrase 'number ten role' trying to sound like Jamie Redknapp, who uses it a lot.
You also see people who, instead of saying 'you're right', like to say 'you're bang right'. Either you're right or wrong. No need for 'bang'. The same with 'top top player'. Do we say top of the league, or top top of the league?
There's also a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes. Yes, there are people who are dyslexic, but there's stacks of it going on. It is not difficult to see why some people may think this site is full of illiterates.
Like I said, not a criticism, just an observation.Leave a comment:

I like this forum and don't really get involved in the others although I post randomly. Feel some of the other forums take themselves a little bit too seriously but there is a place for them all.
Is WATRB the bottom feeder of QPR messageboards I would say not we just have our own niche and discus things that perhaps get ignored on other sites
You cant beat a good old thread which starts with moaning about another poor performance which then turns into a massive row and brawl between posters before finishing with a conversation about b oobs
it happens time and time again some proper good characters on this forum and some sadly missed

I like that there are less pedants on here than on other sites.Leave a comment:

Yes, I think once you start posting in one place you just get used to it there.Leave a comment:

I post on here cos the other QPR forums are either pretty dead or boring as fukLeave a comment:

I would say that's from a very small minority of posters, and certainly not from those that run the forums.
I think it's more a case of people just getting used to one particular site then sticking with it.Leave a comment:

Well DSQPR started all this, so I await his response to this thread in earnest!Leave a comment:

From what I can see here, this forum definitely has many The Sun reader types. Many posts seem to be reactionary, and the fans seem your "ENGEEEEERLAND" type who just get p*ssed and miss half the match.
But it does seem to be a community atmosphere, which is good.
I didn't know there was rivalry between different forums, that's a bit childish IMHO.Leave a comment:

Fair comment. Perhaps I should have said that I respect 99% of the posters - not necessarily all their opinions. Whenever anyone posts something to the effect of poor people deserve all they get or that they hate foreign people I zone out. What is good about this forum is that I can almost certainly guarantee that Facto and I vote in different directions and probably read different newspapers but with 10,000 plus posts each we have hardly expressed a cross word against each other and if we were to meet up by chance for a drink after a game I know we would have a good time and get along and joke about gtglesiter. And the same certainly goes for you Deepcut. Its not the purpose of this board but one small positive about it is that it does bring lots of different people together.Leave a comment:
