I am receiving many emails from fans who are saying they will walk away if the club doesn't change it's approach, which would be a great shame. There are many people angry at the clubs stance.

Your analogy is not valid TBLOCK. A situation that fits your analogy would be I have a ticket for the Villa match and show up at a different time (e.g. the Liverpool match) and expect to get in. Hard to have a problem with that.

The fundamental difference of opinion here is that you see this as a reasonable condition whereas I and others don't (denying entry to somebody with a ticket!). In fact, I see it as assinine. Just because it is in the T&C does not make it reasonable. What if the club made a condition that "the turnstiles will close 30 mins prior to kick off and anybody not inside the ground at that time will be denied entry - supporters are advised to arrive at least 2 hours before kick off to avoid disappointment". Then you show up 45 mins before kick off like everybody else but unfortunately a lot of people are late that day and you are stuck in the queue when the turnstiles close and are denied entry. Would that be alright with you just because it was in the T&C? If you agree that this would be unreasonable even though it is in the T&C then you will be able to see where I and many others are coming from.

What frigging problem is this assinine rule supposed to solve? SussexR, that is the question I'd ask the club. Because once we have the answer to that one simple question, it will be possible to suggest an alternative solution that does not involve punishing adult season ticket holders when their child can't come to the match!

Like travelling on the underground and you have an off peak oyster, you can't then turn up at peak time and say it's ok as I'm the same person.
If non accompanying of a child is such an issue then best to pay full price ST in a non family silver section of the stadium and pay the price for a child ST, it will cost you approximately £50 more but you can come and go as you please without needing a child. Alternately call the boxoffice and say you want to upgrade your family concession ST to a full silver and child and happy to pay the upgrade and therefore you can come and go as you please.
I just can't see how the club can reasonably accept your demands as if they do all other ST holders bringing children currently in non family sections will simply say they want their ST to be reduced to concessionary rates.

The other point is it's not just my family affected, there is a lot of family groups who are very unhappy with this. Some with reasons for occasional non attendance of the child being totally unavoidable ( for reasons that I cannot put onto a public forum). And they all, like me, do not want to shoved into poor seats on an ad hoc basis. Not after having paid the club for our selected seats at the beginning of the season. TV& Cs or not.

As I've said, it's not about money, but about where I want to sit. If I wanted to sit in SAR I'd happily pay for it. I didn't ask them to make it a Family Stand and I didn't ask them to, very quietly, to change the Ts & Cs. (Both done with zero consultation with fans).

It's like buying a peak Oyster card and them telling you they've changed the Ts & Cs without advising you and it's now only valid on Mondays & Tuesdays each week.

Agreed, and Ian Taylor made it quite clear at the meeting that the last thing the club wants is to stop seats being filled in the ground. In their defence they've admitted that mistakes were made at the Stoke game which they've now learnt from and will not repeat.

Yes. I've received a letter Phil Beard, it says little and gives me the impression they're going to stick to their guns of relocating people on a game by game basis. (Reading between the lines that is) If so it'll probably bring my 51 years of going to all home games to an end (as I want to sit where I have paid for and not be hawked around like a piece of meat for no good reason).

Yep thanks. That's a fair point. The fundamental point for me is that when I attend without my Nephew, I am the same person who attends when he is there. So what makes me unacceptable when he isn't. However your point is valid for people who buy on an ad-hoc basis or on the day. In those circumstances I agree with the rule. Just not for season ticket holders.
