    We need our captains back

Can't wait until Barton is back in the team. Our most important player and always play better with him playing. Proper leader. He won't have any of this players not pulling their weight crap. We need him to be an inspiration like he was at the back end of last season.

Agree we need him back but unfortunately we won't automatically turn into a decent team with Joey in the side.

      Agree with this.

There is s lot of clutching of straws going on. Can't blame anyone for it but looking at players like Barton and Adel, Bobby Zamora etc to save your ### is futile.

Have to say, Joey didn't make a whole lot of difference to the way we rolled over at Spurs and Man U.

                    Barton and Hill

Time to stand up and an whip this shower of a squad into shape if Harry don't have it in himself to do it

Both are not scared of hard work and its now time for them to lead by example. I have no confidence in the manager to galvanise the team but reckon these two have the character and respect of their colleagues to stand up and set the example of what is expected from each and every player when they are picked. We don't expect players to beat 10 men or ping 60yard passes but as a minimum we expect 100% effort and commitment and if the balls their to be won go in and win it.

These two know what us fans are about and what our expectations are. Its not to late to salvage the season but the snowball effect has to start somewhere and in the squad these are the only two that I think have the balls to make it happen

Step forward Hill and Barton as with Captain Mainwaring dithering on the bench your the last hope

Spot on mate. Think both have the respect of the whole squad and are not shy of putting a few noses out of joint if required. Think the players have got to take the lead as like you said no confidence in Harry boy.

                          Certainly

We've been noticeably powderpuff in midfield without Barton lately - he does at least give us energy and commitment

Despite his age and supposed lack of quality, Hill would be no worse than Ferdinand but would give us a damn sight more fight

The two of them and Derry long term could be something worth investing in
