The ref instead each corner wanders up to Shawcross and has a talk!!! Whats that about?? If you feel the need to talk with him each corner before its taken he is clearly doing something wrong so blow the f ucking whistle and give the pen then he will stop doing it

Then Shawcross flies in from behind and goes through and takes out Niko. As far as I was aware a tackle from behind especially with that force is a red

TW, you say "if" and that's the point - Caulker and Rio dont behave that way. Shawcross was doing it ALL game and it was blatant too, restraining Caulker with his arms all around him. He'd obviously been targeted for such treatment. The time has come for refs to start giving penalties for it, its the only way you'll eradicate it from the game.

Actually that one was probably correct, Fer had his arm up in the keepers face.

Ref got so much else wrong though.

Still think that if Caulker had kept his hands down when Caulker was hugging him, he might have got the decision.

Stan....if, as in hypothetically. I know they don't do it. But my point still stands, wouldn't it be regarded as good defending IF they did a Shawcross. Pretty sure no one would complain, and even condone it if the boot was on the other foot. Just trying to see it from both sides.

...my point again applies to this.....would it have been bad refereeing had it been the other way round? No.
