Presumably we don't need the money and we would be lending him to someone we could be competing against. For his part unless a top 6 or so side why would he bother? He is on very good wages for us so primary reason for move would be to challenge for trophies.

It's not madness on our part if someone offers 15-16mill (for sides not in europe). He has a buyout clause and we have no choice if someone meets that. So in theory he could go to Burnley if they offer the money and we can't do nothing about it. It might be madness on his part though which why I don't see him leaving unless it's someone like spurs that comes in.
