    Charlie Austin

Everyone on here that thinks Remy is the best striker in the world will be surprised when Charlie scores more than him.

Austin. Always in the right place at the right time to and knows where the goal is.

Like last season, once he gets his eye in, the goals will flow.

I think the surprize package will be Barton

Located at either end of the pitch, half way between the corner flags. They never move!

First player to spring to my mind was Phillips but thinking about it I think it will be Mutch.
He`s new (to us), in the middle of the park, will play every game (suzzies & injuries aside) and IF Hoddle comes in he will be a big big player for us, He looked out of sorts yesterday though...

Never worked a day in your life, have you?

If you had you'd know the goal posts are always being moved....

I think people on here will be surprised at how rubbish Barton looks when we're up against much better sides, don't see much of the ball and can't afford to let him Hollywood it out for goal kicks every five minutes.

Astonished anyone thinks SWP has any use whatsoever. I was at both games in Ireland and the guy honestly looked no better than the pub players we were up against. If anything, his technique and touch were probably worse than your average Athlone player. I don't doubt he works hard but the guy really is a complete waste of space.

I would love to say Faurlin, but I've no idea how he'll be after the latest injury. Would love to say Adel too, but he's unlikely to play. I'll say Onuoha, if played right-side of a back three - it's his ideal position.

As much as I like Barton and his influence over the last year, I have to agree with this! Hope he's come to realise it too and takes a more conservative approach.

It's important the fans don't get on his back. Same with Austin, when he suddenly looks more Van Wolfswinkel than Van Persie.

This is one of the reasons our fanbase is so divided over Adel. People expected him to tear up the PL like he did the Championship and so set unduly high expectations and accused him of "failing" when he didn't reach them. 5 goals and 4 assists is a perfectly good return for an attacking mid in a poor PL side (none of our AMs managed such a return last season) but people seemed to resent him for not running rings around defenders every week.

Excellent point. It's easier to demonise than laud when things go Pete Tong.
