    Deeney revisited

Apparently the reason we've heard little over the past week or so is that the board only offered £4m for Deeney even though Harry asked the board to try their best to buy him. This was £3.5m short of Leicester's bid which was rejected.Sorry if I've duplicated any earlier news.

I would not pay much more than that for him either.

Damn Fulham for buying McCormack for £11m. This could be why Watford have even rejected Leciester bid.

Well factor in that Watford have a far lower chance of getting promotion to the prem gravy train without him, is it any wonder....?

Don't need to get mugged off by Championship clubs for strikers seeing as it seems we get to keep Remy.

We're in a position to play hardball now the pressure is off and see who's available at the end of the transfer window for a decent price. No paying 10m for average players

I highly doubt it's true, it's common knowledge what Leicester bid (twice) with both being rejected. £4m is about his real value though. The real reason it's gone quiet is Remy returning.

Harry obviously likes Deeney and if Remy leaves in January, I think the money will be used to bring in Deeney if he's still at Watford, which I think he will be.

Even of Remy does stay at least till January, we still need another striker. We cant go into the season with 3, one of which will probably spend a lot of time injured

It depends if Harry is going to play one up front or not. If you play one up front, you can get away with 3 strikers, although the prospect of Remy and Austin both being injured is scary! If we sign a striker on a permanent basis, I'd presume Harry has the intention to play 2 up front quite often. I think we'll be making a loan signing for our 4th striker though.
