This may upset a few but I think a former English international should commentate the England games not a English man who wanted to play for Ireland. Grates on me he tries to make out he is passionate about England when he chose to play else where plus he is poor at his job

I have to hold my hands up to saying that Collymore does a blinding job commentating on Talksport, he is not everyone's cup of tea given his history, but as a commentator he's tells it how it is and unlike the rest is not afraid of expressing an opinion

Completely 100% agree with an English commentator commentating on an English game and it also gets right on my nerves when a foreigner puts my beautiful country down (just like that Townsend does when commentating). As for Stan Collymore, I've got to disagree with you there Wests. I don't know if its his accent or the fact I just don't like him but I'm not a fan of his commentating. I'd like to see someone like Sheringham doing a bit

I don't give a **** where townsend is from or which country he chose to represent.........he's just the WORST commentator ever....talks in sound bites and never actually says anything.

Sheringham has about as much passion and insight as a bag of stale crisps. Duller than dull. Collymore though is top drawer - a genuinely insightful pundit and passionate football fan. Got a lot of time for Stan - he's been stitched up appallingly by the media over the years.
