Very sad. Mel Smith last year, Rik Mayall this. Two of the principal leaders of the late 70's/early 80's comedy revolution have gone in less than 12 months. Their legacy remains, but it is making me thinking about my own mortality.

Ironic quote from The Young Ones -
"And the grown-ups will say "But why are the kids crying?" And the kids will say "Haven't you heard? Rik is dead! The People's Poet is dead!"

From Kevin Turvey, Dangerous Brothers, Comic Strip Presents especially Bad News, but others too, Young One Rick, Richie Rich from Filthy, Rich & Catflap, Richie from Bottom, Alan B'stard New Statesman, Flashheart from Black Adder and much more.....Comedic Legend (IMO) RIP

Amazing I forgot about Kevin Turvey ....brilliant.
I went to uni in 1990 and the young ones even though a few years before was my bible and it weren't far off.
From memory some great bands played on that show. He just stole it ....hits home when stars who made your younger years so happy pass away..RIP
