Yes I am not going to the world cup but planning to go to the Olympics. 4 of us and want to stay with a family if possible for 14 to 20 days have not decided yet.

You probably want to saty in Barra, which is in the west side of Rio and has beaches, bars, etc, which is where most of the games will take place if the finish building the complex in time)!! It has a more American layout than the rest of Rio. The only problem is that it is a bit of a hike from the famous beaches of Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana, although they are working on a metro extension and hopefully the bus system will be improved too.....I can find a site for you that has listings of apartments (in Portuguese) if you want.
