Think you are about 5 years too late in your assessment of Cesar. I'm sure he was a great keeper before his car crash but for me he has looked unconvincing to say the least, yes he makes some Hollywood saves but overall far more vulnerable looking than Green. He doesn't command his area, is poor at dealing with crosses and is distribution inconsistent. I doubt if he would get into many if any Premiership sides and is far from being one of the best around. If he was that his wage demands wouldn't have been such an issue as they have been. There are plenty of clubs who would have snapped him up had they rated him as one of the best.

Harry usually describes him as a top, top keeper.... It isn't true. And, as you say, Harry knows that. He's leeching a living. We ought put him on the bench one game then, when winning comfortably, substitute Green in the 85th min and put Richard Dunne in goal...

They've both played enough for us for people to make an informed judgement. Sure they're different in style and both got positives and negative but how someone thinks Green is a better keeper is beyond me. Most probably if we'd never hired Green we'd all be hailing Cesar as person who's stuck with the club through thick and thin cos he decided to stay and play in a lower division.

Cesar is a better keeper but doesn't make him right for us. I think Harry has handled it as well as he could and done the right thing by side-lining him . Everyone thought that he'd have moved on now but fact he hasn't and we're stuck with him. The fact that he hasn't played and his huge wages of course, has probably put off quite a few prospective teams. Hopefully we can get rid after the world cup, here's hoping he gets to start. But to call him an awful keeper out of resentment for a false sense of satisfaction achieves nothing.

Tbh, I would love to see Cesar' punching and saving again, just watching him makes the the whole 90 minutes of the game more dynamic and enjoyable.
