  • Dunne and Hill

The problem with playing them both together is two fold, firstly they sit so deep as they are frightened of being caught over the top. This results in the game getting stretched and means our midfield struggle to support the strikers, one of the reasons for our lack of goals. The second is they struggle against any sort of movement, with Dunne at fault for the first two goals today.

Would also have too question Green for both the first two goals and now Cesar is staying big decision for Harry as Cesar is by far the better keeper and will almost certainly be here next year where as Green will be out of contract.

Ricky, I have noticed it earlier too that you know nothing about goalkeeping so do yourself a favour and stop writing about it.

No moaning just making a couple of points and Tommy the D#c if you think Green is a better keeper than Cesar you are watching the wrong sport.

Ricky, name one goalkeeper who would have saved their second?

You are absolute spot on about Dunne and Hill´s positional play. Personally, I hope Harry will play Onuoha in the CB position again.

Nothing Green could do about the goals... Plenty the defence couldve done about them tho.

I will keep it simple, ball came in from the greens right, a good keeper would have both read the flight, it was never going to reach further than the near post, and adjusted his feet moving to his right to narrow the angle giving him the chance to save it.

Just have a think about the amount of times Green gets beaten from distance, why because he is slow to move his feet!

It was a low and fast cross, you had no time to ''read the flight'' and Vokes and Dunne run straight towards it and the ball was kicked directly from a very difficult height. All happened in one second. Absolutely impossible for any goalkeeper.
And by the way, Cesar isn't the same he was five years ago.

I am not a big Green fan but he did nothing wrong it was the clowns in front of him. Need Ned in the middle.

Clowns??? Two hardworking fellas responsible for us having the best defensive record in the league?? No one could have stopped their first. It was a great goal. Holliett failed to track back and Onouha was out of position for their second and BAE screwed up badly for their third. How in God's name can either Hill or Dunne be blamed?

As I saw it for what it's worth is that the first goal we switched off, quick free quick and brilliant finish nothing that Green could have done about it. Second goal was the speed and movement which out witted our two central defenders. Third was Bennies error but still the player got across our central defender. Whilst hill and Dunne have been excellent they are slow over the first five yards and this was shown up today. Volks and Ings movement was excellent and although Burnley always looked like conceding they also looked like scoring. Good game for a neutral but who really wants another season in the premiership with this team.

i love the way that every goal scored against us is somehow avoidable and our defence is to blame.

dunne and hill lack pace, but have very good positional skill. both bae and onuha had tough days today and probably could have done better. but burnley do have a very good front pairing (and i don't have any problem admitting that). realistically, their third goal was really soft, but the other two were generally good pieces of play that we would be drooling over if we'd done them to our opposition.

1st goal we went to sleep and paid the price the second was down to us not closing down in wide area's and the third was an individual mistake by benny. I can't see why people are questioning Dunne Hill and Green nothing any of them could have done about the goals. If anything Benny and Nedum were the players that struggled today. I rekon the fact Harry changed from 2 deep midfielders also made us more open but on the other hand much better going forward

Nedum is a makeshift RB. By far his best position is CB and is our future there.
