Steve Coppell would be my first choice if we were looking to get rid of Jim Magilton.

I also really like Bristol City's manager Gary Johnson not sure he would work with GP though

              Yes. Either of them.
As manager or Director of Football.

Preferably the latter, because I can think of far better managers than either of those.

                EXACTLY.

                Now ask yourselves... why?

That's a very important question, and one that will probably be ignored and lost in the sea of posts about team selection, or who we should buy in january.

There is not a single question that is more relative to everything that's being discussed at the moment.

Holloway - no, our best and most dangerous player by a country mile is Buzzacky and Holloway did not get the best out of him, he'd play two cloggers in midfield rowlands on the wing.

                  Francis maybe

                  Coppell definately

I'm not sure Gary Johnson could work in many football clubs to be honest he likes total control on everything budget, youth policy and all transfers.

Rafa Benitez recently fell out with his board at Liverpool over the same thing.

I think some of the signings we have made have been quite good where I do blame Gianni is the appointments of Dowie, Sousa (although that was more Briatore) and Magilton.

Our squad is an unbalanced, huge, over-loaded with midfieders, MESS.

GP is the Sporting Director, and yet he escapes from almost all responsibilty for that.
Most good managers are given responsiblity for signings and scouting, and youth set-up... Gary Johnson is far from unique in expecting to have the big say on that. Within a set budget, of course.

There are two reasons that we can't attract a top, proven manager to QPR... despite our location, history and relative wealth.

Those reasons are FB and GP, and the way they run the show.

I'd have been content with John Gregory - think he would have this squad top of the league - and we wouldn't have the reputation for running a circus that we currently have either!!

Yes I think they both would.

Holloway will return one day. Gerry has retired now.

                              Gerrys coaching at Stoke now.

We would probably end up with Steve Mcclaren if Magilton left
