Cahill is streets ahead of Dunne.

Don't rate Cahill personally. Think Dawson is better but Dunnes better days are over let's be honest here.

Nor do I tbh when talking about England's top defenders, but when compared to Richard Dunne he is on another level.

Lets face it when england come up against any sort of quality at international level our centrebacks often do a fair impression of frankensteins monster

No comparison between Dunne and Cahill though, Cahill is streets ahead and would be the winner even if you compared him to Dunne at his peak

At his peak Dunne was outstanding, still is a very good player with QPR
                Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

To all England fans, myself included: don't get your hopes up for the World Cup. We will be lucky to get out of our group.

I think you are right, would be shocked at even the customary QF myself. Although if Germany mess about tomorrow, because they just don't care too much about a friendly and are only bringing 500 fans or something, I could see some surprise win because the game really matters to England and that will have everyones hopes up again. Its just the 'beating the half decent sides in real tournaments' bit that Hodgson needs to get right

Never rated Cahill personally. Dawson and Jagielka are much better in my opinion.
