I read that he could possibly feature today. Probably start on the bench, IMO.

Matty Phillips got injured at Yeovil.
Not too sure what progress he's making towards getting fit.

He didn't play preseason & we rushed him back. Now he's had a break he should play off the bench & into the first team soon. I really wouldn't worry
            Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
            And many more mistakes

I can only judge from what I've seen, and he looks pony tbh.

Just like Austin at the start then?

Don't think Austin looked pony from the start. Just needed a goal. But yes Phillips deserves to be given a bit of time to bed in, but think he will have to sit on the bench & maybe come on when we are, hopefully 2 or 3 goals to the good. Midfield is pretty strong IMO despite the result today.

No. Austin has never been pony.

Don't be so precious, I'm just commenting on my opinion. The bloke has been pony, done nothing so far.

Can't see what he offers the side personally. Came on today & done absoutely nothing. Got enough of the ball to make an impact as subs are meant to do yet done nish. Last goal didn't help by him waiting for the ball to come to him rather than go TOO the ball. Should of brought Chevanton on to kill them off.

Simply nowhere near match fitness, miss a whole pre season and its very difficult to catch up, its going to take more than just a couple of games to get back his sharpness.

To be fair, I don't think we've seen the best of him yet. The guy has had no pre-season and has just come to a new club where competition for a starting position is fierce. He needs game time and time to bed in before people start making judgments about whether he's good enough!

Same as hoilett last year . No preseason, injuries, not fit. Come good after run of games I hope
