We have been made aware that, through no deliberate act, we misconstrued comments made to us by Jim Magilton in an interview conducted recently at QPR's training ground.

In discussing the role of Martin Rowlands, Magilton spoke in depth about the versatility of his captain and explained his belief that Rowlands could be used in a variety of positions.

However, his comments related specifically to his capabilities in different positions within midfield and not, as we reported, as a striker.

We are happy to set the record straight on this matter.
