I'm not sure our offensive game is helped by having so many central midfielders like Faurlin who refuse to carry the ball and who play so static when they have it. Carroll and Faurlin were perfect examples of that. Both made space to receive the ball, put in runs to get it, but both always chose to immediately lay it off even if there's a chance to bring it forward before then laying it off (or passing creatively). Joey despite his lack of pace tries that. O'Neil too needs do more of it. Henry is Henry; that's never gonna be his game.Originally posted by gilly View PostMaybe. It was his thrrough ball that made one of the goals (can't remember if it was bartons or the penalty), he did misplace some passes, but i would be interested to see some stats as i reckon is pass completion was still quite high.
We looked a lot better before he came off, think he was instrumental to the passing game we were playing. Definitely not the old Ale, but there were glimpses that he could return.
