Has any one ever changed their minds?

I've been posting on this forum for a couple of years now and enjoyed a lot of the debate, attempted to dabble in some banter every now and then (I'm playing rather fast and loose with the term "attempted"...) but reading a few of the threads recently over things such as us being unbeaten all season, our signings in the window and this recently started (and a good debate too may I add) the discussion about booing out own players.

Out of interest, has anyone once read the OP and said to themselves a definite "yes"/"no" only to then be persuaded by other posters to change their minds? Because the more i think about it, the more I realise that a thread starts, opinions are put out there, points are repeated, and argued, and argued again...and then things just fizzle out until a new thread comes up.

That's what happens its VERY rare somebody will change their opinion because someone on a message says so. Messages boards are more to read other people's opinions rather than chane yours.

Spot on mate. Imo, Most People like to be liked so don't really express their own genuine views incase of "sounding silly" so They just Share others opinions to "fit in". Been thinking this for a while myself

i see what you mean about the point of messageboards isn't about there to change your mind. but there are occasions in life when someone thinks one thing and then turns out it's probably best to go with a different way of thinking...as an extreme case - someone who was part of the Hitler Youth in the 30s...thought one thing, turns out it wasn't the right idea

I probably should say less sometimes because of this exact reason... The board will naturally do this, its like any other forum.

Not a bad thing all the time, but people are misguided and forget the TOO have a voice.

I am generally correct about everything...so very rarely would I be persuaded by someone elses views....but you are right in your view that posters are too stubborn to change opinion
or as others have said, people are just sheepish...im one of the top posters here and the concepts ive brought up here have been amongst the most interesting posts consistently.....
yet most posters simply ignore them
