I am guessing it will only be near the end of the transfer window we will see real movement now, as I am sure the club will take in some loan players and this will depend on signings and space in 25 man squads?

I for example, Townsend & Defoe might struggle to get into a 25 man squad at Tottenham if they continue signing all these players? Certainly they are falling down in the pecking order which means they will not see regular football !!

Townsend has already said he's not going on loan again which means he has to decide if he wants to stay and fight for a place at Spurs, or look for a transfer.

It depends if his ego can handle leaving one of the biggest clubs in the country.

Tottenham have signed one winger on the left and according to the Mail are about to sign two more (Well, Coentrao is technically a left back but he can play as a winger as well). So I wouldn't be surprised if we haven't heard the last of Townsend.

I think Townsend will leave Spurs this window - but probably have to wait until deadline day to find out where. Seems like Harry's only got a tiny fraction of the budget Hughes had. So even Townsend may be out of his price range.
Can't imagine Defoe arriving on loan but I think there will be plenty of loans as they are cheap deals and bargains to be had there.

Should see a few loans as they are good for squad cover as well as adding to the squad when we are priced out of permanents.
