dont think townsend said this at all.
"I think I either give it a go at Tottenham, get more game time, or look to move on a more permanent basis," Townsend was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
"I've had nine loans now. I enjoy going out on loan because it means I'm playing games. I'm not young anymore - I'm 22. In football terms, I'm getting on a bit and I want to play sustained football on a permanent basis."

As I said yesterday, it seems like the Phillips thing is back on and moving ahead but I take it as pure speculation because I have no prior knowledge of the credentials of the person who told me this. Harry Redknapp gives up on Andros Townsend bid
Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp conceded defeat today in his attempts to sign Andros Townsend on a permanent deal from Tottenham.
Redknapp is a huge admirer of the 22-year-old (above) having worked with him while in charge of Spurs and then taking him on loan to QPR for the second half of last season.
