Do we need to be chasing players like Parker and Defoe?

I don't know what the failed bid was for Parker, but shouldn't we have enough in Midfield to hold our own this season?
Defoe, it would be brilliant if we signed him but would probably be £10million.
Wouldn't it be better to put a bid in for Rhodes instead?
There's no need to chase once big names anymore, there's plenty of players out there that are more than capable of destroying this league.

Harry loves signing his ex-players. Players and characters that he trusts and knows would produce for him what he'd expect from them. Manager/player relationship and creating a strong and united dressing room. All vital ingredients.

I am not saying they won't perform as Defoe would destroy the league.
But, he would probably cost £10million+ and that's 2 maybe 3 decent players for the squad

i think you have answered this already by saying Defoe would destroy the league. Promotion back to the prem league would more than pay off the fees for Defoe and Parker.

Parker could be a great leader who can dictate play and Defoe is capable of scoring almost every game at this level,so why not try to get them?

Because it would probably cost £15million to get them both.
Rhodes and that Blackpool bloke would cost the same, do the same job and are younger so more for the future

I think we are chasing other players at the same time , just look at reports of who else we have been looking at. Zapata for example another striker .

But have more years in them, and would do the job this season just as much

Harry will almost certainly have several targets for each position, and if he can't get his no.1 target, he'll have another one lined up.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I'm pretty certain we won't be paying 10m for Defoe or any other player for that matter, especially one in their 30's. If the price is as much of that I bet our interest will dwindle pretty quickly!

we have a chance of signing Parker imo, he's a good character and a top top top player!

As for Defoe if we do go up next this season, i reckon we could get him unless another london club are after him

we do need to chasing players like Defoe and Parker imo as getting up this season is very important. I don't think there's any reason to think beyond this season, let's get up by hook or by crook and if we do, then worry about long term future. If we don't go up this season, it could be a long wait again. This is our best shot.
The club have made loads of mistakes, they know that and I finally think the penny's dropped with TF as to how to run a football club.
I also think Harry and the management have done a great job so far getting rid of players and cutting the wage bill. Not sure what's happening with Cesar, Granero, Mbia and Diakite. I think there is money there now to get who we want. Harry said there will be some mind blowing signings, let's see what happens

Yes, Parker may help us go top top top of the league

In a nutshell, YES they are worth every penny, to have a leader in the middle of the park and at the same time is a good player and up top to have one of the best finishers in England it's a no brainer. It doesn't matter if they cost £15m as the prize is £140m windfall for every season you stay in the prem and these two players can still do it in that league when we go up but unfortunately that's why I don't think we will get them as there are others prem clubs that will want there services
