he did say the following in may:Originally posted by Stanley76 View PostHow is it a backtrack? He has never said that he would NOT give his all if selected to play?
‘I’m 30 years old. I’m not interested in money. I just want to test myself in the best club competition in the world against the best players.
‘Can anyone blame me for that? Is that out of order on my part?
‘If I’d of been part of a relegated team. I would without a shadow of a doubt, stayed and helped them try to get out. (I did at Newcastle)
‘I wasn’t part of it. I wanted to be in July. MH and co, said they didn’t want or need me. That was there choice. Not mine. I went to France.
...
‘No matter where I am at the start of next season, my heart will be in Marseille. Counting the days till I get to go to war for this club again.’
...which does sort of imply his heart won't be in it for us.

yeah he did say that. I think he realises now that nobody wants him and is backtracking. But i dont really care about what he has said or done. If he plays well for the team then I will get behind him. Same goes for any other playerOriginally posted by Jeems View PostI remember him tweeting stuff like "QPR may be playing the Championship next seaspm but I wont" etc. Will dig up more later!

Full quote: "It's funny how people take a throw away comment to a hypothetical question and before you know it, it's national news.
It's well known who I support. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that out. Good football agents will always be looking to move players. That's how they make money.
Recent rumours are slightly wide of the mark. Everyone knows where I would like to end up in France, playing in the Champions League for Olympique Marseille. Nothing has changed my end.
If not, I am contracted to QPR and will give my all to help them regain their Premier League status. If something happens and both clubs decide differently than I will assess my options.
No matter what happens, I intend to enjoy my football and play with a smile on my face. Again, wherever that maybe. Careers are too short. Hope that clears my situation up for everyone. Stop listening to all the tittle-tattle. Most self coined 'experts' know f*** all."

I am not a fan of Joey either - we should have never bought him to LR in the first place during a critical re-building stage. Anyway, past history and IF:
- he stays and does indeed give his all
- stays away from any kind of indiscipline and controversy (HUGE ask with this individual)
..then I would fully agree that he would be a very good asset.
But, right now, my word does he have A LOT to prove, and a lot of bridges to build.

We could be the beneficiary of that..... If he's selected lets all give him the benefit of the doubt. If, following a few games, he hasn't performed we can then let him have it with both barrels...... Everton NEVER wanted Barton .......... As I posted yesterday his clown of an agent was on Talksh1te saying he had contacted Everton to say Barton wanted to play for them , when Brazil asked him what they had said , he said "nothing" obviously couldn't stop laughing long enough to even reply !Originally posted by bmthranger View PostSounds like everton don't even want barton."Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."

DIRECT OUT OF WILLY MACKAY'S MOUTH HE PHONED UP EVERTON TO SAY YOU WANTED TO PLAY FOR THEM & THEY ARE THE 'ONLY' CLUB YOU WOULD REDUCE YOUR WAGES FOR !
I'd say get a cleverer agent BUT he can't be that stupid as he got you this deal with the us !
Anyone can listen to yesterdays Alan Brazil show I think it was about 9 o'clock , if they want to hear the truthLast edited by NW_Hoopz; 01-08-2013, 12:00 PM."Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
