He's got one year left on his contract. PSV won't pay him what we pay him owing to their salary cap. It seems they're paying him up to their salary cap and we're making up the difference. Its not ideal, but it means we get shot of the no mark....Comment

I think it is good to get him off the payroll, but I agree, it is a shame that they didn't sell him, even for a knockdown fee of £200K.
He was a hugely disappointing signing. Can't believe the hype and press conference when parading him as a marquee signing. I had a feeling back then that this would go belly-up just like the Parejo deal which had a similar press coverage/parade.Comment

Got nothing against Park and if we were short of midfielders would be happy to give him a run after all his niggling injuries last season to see if he improved. However we have midfielders galore, just signed Henry, possibly signed O'Neil and getting linked with various others so also bearing in mind his wages probably best to let him go even if we have to subsidise a bit for the year.Comment

Maybe they won't take him on at the wage he's on with us, but PSV have agreed to pay, lets say 70% of his wages. He's in his final year of his contract with us and clearly Harry doesn't fancy him so why not try and get him off the wage bill. Get it now??Comment

Cheers, never realised he was in his last year!

Why? What really is the hang up with what people earn a week...? Just curious to know that's all.
Probably somewhere around £2.5million a year, but he cost us nothing contrary to what was reported in the press and he's raised the clubs profile in Asia greater than what we could of done by spending £5million on marketing.Comment

Don't put words into my mouth. I said it was a fact SAF said to the media he wanted Park to stay. Further more he said to the media after Park transferred that he regret letting him go.You I assume include yourself in the fans speculate what SAF thinks and then write it as fact. Since you stated it was a fact SAF wanted Park to stay where as what you are really doing is speculating. Of course all the stories match as it would look silly if they were different and would be ridiculous. As I say what SAF told the media and even Park himself is possibly not what SAF really thought and expressed behind closed doors. Hence you can't claim it is fact SAF wanted Park to stay.
The other factor is if SAF really wanted Park to stay then he probably would of. Not many managers have influence like SAF with regard to the board and players and if he really wanted Park to stay he would have insisted on it. Regardless of the length of service/request to leave etc if it was not in the best interests of Man Utd and SAF then Park would not have left. That is also speculation and not fact I might point out.
History is based on stories that match.
SAF has a history of letting loyal players leave when they ask for it. It's not in the best of interest for a club to have a player who wants to leave. This is strictly my opinion.Comment
