Desperate?
I personally wouldn't class myself as desperate Jonny, but what I would say is.. Barton whether people like it or not is a decent footballer.
Im not fussed whether we have him or not, but he would be a good asset for most prem teams let alone a championship squad.
By the way I dont give a **** about his twitter rants, the fact he is an ex con or his taste in music.
I like Barton for his football.Comment

does anyone know the result of the behind closed door match and who played.
Adel, barton and faurin is a decent starting lineup so just wondered?I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!Comment

Same as you mate......only difference is that I think he is a very ordinary footballer....Desperate?

This exactly! Does everyone forget why he was getting booed off? it was because he was playing so bad! Constantly giving the ball away, p!ss poor set peices, getting caught out and offering no creativity what-so-ever.
I personally liked joey barton "the footballer" before he came to us, but i have to say, after watching him week in- week out in the flesh, the number of good games he had in a season can be counted on one hand......with fingers to spare.
Perhaps he will come back a new "footballer", (I doubt he will come back a new man), but if we get the same sort of performances from him, where he runs around like a headless chicken playing 5 yard passes and shouting at everyone, i think we are better off with Jenas, Faulrin, Henry, Diakite, Mbia.Comment

He may think he is ordinary but rates him better than those aboveComment

Some of you bare a grudge, I bet the same ones moan about their mrs not chilling when you've had too much to drink or something.....
The past is the past, Joey will always be what he is but to have him playing for QPR in the championship is genius! Get him back in now Arry sonComment

I certainly don't bear any grudge towards Barton....I just don't think he's that good......and for people to claim that he would be our best option in midfield probably says more about the shocking state of our current midfield
If.....and it's a massive if..he doesn't get his desired move away.....then I will support ANY player who puts on the hoops......I would just like the c*** to stop talking a good game and actually put in a performance.Comment

I agree with Johnny. Not as good as some think in my opinion but that's not the issue for me.
No point keeping a player who;
1. Doesn't really want to play for the club anyway.
2. Constantly provokes controversy and brings the spotlight to bear on the club.
3. Will likely be sent off and/or suspended for a good part of the season.
4. Is coming to the end of his career anyway.
He can prove me wrong of course, and I hope he does. Somehow I doubt it though.......Comment
