McLaren given the green light to QPR's £25 million training complex (Not Steve)

As the OP mentions, this lot (not Steve!) built Spurs' New training complex (although I'm jealous that theirs cost nearly twice ours!).

Building costs have come down by almost a third since the recession. Just because theirs cost more than our don't mean it will be better. Remember ours will always be newer!

Say's who? I am currently working on a £15billion project, and before the recession I doubt it would of cost more, probably less in fact.

Labour costs in that game have come down by a third. People are undercutting each other trying to grab whatever work they can, hence why I said building costs have come down. I know people who have been made redundant who cant get jobs for the same salaries they were on, some have had to take a £14k pay cut just to stay in work.

From the 2nd quarter 2008 to now, "officially" 8.7% cheaper (using BCIS indices) - but I've found in our firm we're paying just about the same - with rates frozen rather than cut, with our main subbys. Our Main Contracts are cheaper though, with framework agreements such as IESI squeezing prelim costs and mark ups right down for us.

Quantity Surveyor mate. But I'm also an unqualified gynaecologist in the evenings and at weekends - barely have any work in this though.
