probably the same situation as a lot of players at the club. they are sat on a nice juicy contract and wont leave it voluntarily without an incentive. that is just human nature.
only difference is that barton imo could do well in the championship whereas a lot of the rest would not.

This is what was said during the radio interview with Radio Monte Carlo yesterday.
Elie Baup's reply on RMC "When he left, there was an agreement between him and the club (Marseille). Now, we shouldn't forget that he belongs to QPR. It is quite simply a matter between him and his Club (QPR).

There is a long way to go in the transfer window, these players are probably just biding their time to see what the best deal they can broker is!Originally posted by zeberdee View Postprobably the same situation as a lot of players at the club. they are sat on a nice juicy contract and wont leave it voluntarily without an incentive. that is just human nature.

I think the club agrees with this, which is why they are making no effort to talk to Barton (from what I can see). I think they are hoping Marseille will sign somebody else (they are looking apparently) and then the problem disappears. Nowhere for Barton to go so he has to buckle down and make the best of it in the championship.Originally posted by zeberdee View Postprobably the same situation as a lot of players at the club. they are sat on a nice juicy contract and wont leave it voluntarily without an incentive. that is just human nature.

I would say, judging by the fact he has not been involved in pre-season at all so far, that the club are expecting Joey to leave!

Punishment or not, if you want a player for the coming season you will utilise him in the pre-season. What use will Joey be if he is 4 weeks behind all the other players in terms of fitness when the season starts?Originally posted by janemelanie View PostWasn't that as a punishment for arriving late for training?
