We don't want to pay that kind of money for anyone, don't care who it is.

    Find another target.

It says he is on 70k, not that we have offered him that. Considering our top earner was 65k in the Prem, theres no way we will go near that figure in the Champ

          I hope not.
I'd offer him £40K and the rest of it as a 'promotion bonus' if he delivers.

Our top earner was on 65k(pretty sure it was Samba)

We're not a stupid club anymore, if Parker signed it would depend on a pay cut
              Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
              And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

You're too nice, I'd offer 30k tops with bonus per game.

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes is taking charge of his club's bid to sign midfielder Scott Parker, 32, from Tottenham.
                      Full story: the Times

Dont worry Fernandes sticking his oar in and coming to the rescue with a game of FIFA and an offer he cant refuse...its only money after all.

my take on the money is this - jenas was on £20k and townsend £5k - somewhere around those figures is where about 90% of the squad should be - but it dont seem to me that is the current direction of the club and nor was it last year either when the big influx of big money players, that got relegated and now nobody wants to buy, happened and by comparison parker is a drop in that ocean.

We surely will just not continue making the same mistakes over and over again though? Offering players that last big pay day invariably means you will be paying them till the end of their contract as no-one is going to match the wages especially 1 or 2 years later. You will be stuck with them which is ok if they perform well but not so much if they are injury prone or play like our lot did last season. Its a gamble and one that hasnt paid off up to now so maybe a change of tactic? Thought that was the lesson learned last couple of seasons?
